6 to 10 members, English ability (TOEFL 450+ or equivalent)
Elementary, junior high and high school teachers. “Juku” or home teachers.
Others interested in teaching English to children.
Course objectives:

To examine aspects of the teaching of English in
upper elementary school and the first years of junior high school.

To try out a broad range of practical classroom teaching
activities.

To reflect on and share teaching experiences.
Teaching method:
-
Short lectures and discussions - in seminar format.
-
“Hands on” practice teaching - with participants
preparing classroom activities for presentation to the class using
appropriate classroom language and visual aids.
-
A final “Reflection” session - in which participants
review the three-day course and think about how best to make use of
what they have learned. Participants will be asked to choose one aspect
of the programme they are interested in and write a short essay or
report.
